Delightfully politically incorrect. She will assess your culture and tell you what she really thinks of it! She does not hold back
Ann is a fabulous teacher. In my first year as an MJ she put everyone's first assignment on the projector and pointed out everything we did wrong. Once you get over your own embarrassment, you realize that she's helping you. And she does it with humour. She is always available to talk and makes things very understandable. One of the best @ Ryerson.
Ann is intimidating initially but once you get to know her she is helpful, clear and constructive. One of the few j-profs who have encouraged me and given me faith in my writing ability. She is very fair but your mark will reflect your engagement. She cares about helping you learn - ask for advice. She helped me with my resume and job advice.
A queen among ladies. Doesn't form friendship with students, but treats everyone with respect. Knows her stuff. Will go extra mile to help you understand something. Does not mark with bias. Just a queen of a lady.
Ann is fantastic. She's always helpful and can calm even the most stressed-out student. Edits on assignments are constructive, and not just a bunch of personal style preferences. She can be a little intimidating at first but when you get to know her you see she's super nice. She's always handy with advice when you need it.
Ann is amazing. She alone makes the Print stream worthwhile. If you have Don first year and Ann third, you're very fortunate indeed.
She won me on the first day when she said she did not believe JRADS were better than undergrads.
One of the most helpful professors I have ever had. I just wish other journalism profs were more like her.
She is the best prof I have ever had.Hard to find an understanding, intuitive, sensitive journalism prof.
