Dr. Teigrob is an amazing professor. He teaches with so much passion and it is so evident that he cares deeply about what he teaches. Assignments and quizzes are extremely reasonable as well (he is a very fair marker). Dr. Teigrob is by far one of my favourite professors at TMU and I couldn't recommend him more - especially to first-year students.
I strongly believe that this is a class that gives you what you put into it. Attend the lectures and tutorials, pay attention to assignment guidelines and due dates, you'll be fine. In addition, the professor is an absolute gem and extremely understanding. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and look forward to taking another with Dr. Teigrob
the way that this course is graded, imo, is ridiculous and wayyy too much. i did not enjoy my ta either as his grading was very unclear and strange. with how much time the assignments take, i wish there were clearer guidelines. however, i adored dr teigrob's lectures, i highly recommend going to class!! he doesn't post slides with text.
Great class! Engaging lectures, easy to follow, open to helping you if you need it. The lectures are not necessarily necessary to pass, but you'd be missing a lot of the great parts of this class by skipping. His seminars are also great, he's very encouraging to students asking questions even if you're unsure, he just wants you to understand!
Terrible, no emotion at all like a zombie. Throws in one occasional joke (that usually isn't funny, just weird) No instruction, no guidance, the class is absolutely terrible. Almost failed me because he doesn't know how to communicate in regards to what he is looking for in assignments DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU'RE SET FOR FAILURE! STAY AWAY!!
The reviews were deceiving...
Great prof with a great sense of humour. He incorporated jokes into his lectures which made them super fun and helped keep me engaged as well as remember the content a lot better. I would say he is a pretty harsh, but reasonable marker. Attending his lectures is definitely mandatory if you want to do good as most of the detail is not on the slides.
He adds in a few jokes during lectures which is great because of how heavy the course content is. He is clear when teaching which is great. He can be a bit of a harder marker though
Dr.Teigrob is an amazing Professor. Very understanding Don't be afraid to reach out if you need help. Course was amazing. I learned a lot of things about the Cold War and its complexities. The professor mad it interesting by adding a couple of comedic jokes every now and then. Overall would heavily recommend you to take his class.
As a first year student, I must say that Robert was a really chill professor who made the classes very enjoyable especially when you have to be there for 8am. I really enjoyed the class and I thought he was very knowledgeable on the Cold War. The only issue I had was he is a hard marker and gives little to no feedback. Overall he is a pretty solid
