Ashante was one of the best professors I've had. She's very passionate about what she teaches and helps you along the way when it comes to assignments and feedback. As long as you attend class and listen to her lectures, assignments should be easy and quite straight forward.
shes amazing. she provided me with lots of insight
Ashante comes off as being very self-righteous. It's interesting that while she preaches diversity in reporting when nearly all her stories are about black entertainers. Diversity doesn't just mean reporting on one minority, it means "diversity". Plus, I'm a person of colour so this class was preaching to the choir for me.
Ashante is a rude ****. Everytime she talks, it seems like she is fighting with you. She marks incredibly hard and gives very low marks. She is impatient and unapproachable. Difficult to talk to her because she doesn't care/want to hear it. Why is she TAing when she sucks at it? Who the hell hired her?
Another industry professional that makes Ryerson so impressive for journalism. Her tutorials should be less concerned with helping individual students and more concerned with discussion of the issues explored in class. And I've always felt the need to apologize to her for being white. Still, such a nice lady! :-)
