It doesn't matter what tool is used, MATLAB is a quick to focus on the theory. I took the online Stanford course with Andrew after this course and a MATLAB alternative, Octave was used. The focus isn't so much on industry tech cause that's easy to pick up, theory not so much. He does read off slides, but the course itself is intro. Just participate
Seems to be a very insecure individual. He gets agitated by the slightest noise. Other than that, his courses are outdated and have not changed in years. Labs should have been done in Python, not MATLAB. Don't take his courses regardless unless you want to lower your GPA. Stay away!
This professor does not have a clue what he is talking about. For someone who specializes in Machine Learning, he seems to be out of touch with conveying his knowledge. Also, he only marks the final answer on the exam; not the right approach to teaching at all. At the end of the day, we are here to learn, not just do well on exams, right?
Awful class lectures, he doesnt even look back at students when talking, he doesnt answer questions clearly, he never answers Emails, Awful final exam and grade and still no responses about details.
He is not explaining well, very unclear while conductin, and very hard in giving mark.
He doesn't explain the material well and he marks only for final answer
He just read the slides, the slides are confusing and has lots of mistakes. gives marks on final answers only.
By far the worst professor I've had in my life.
He does not really teach, he only reads off the slides and explains a few things which you can easily Google them. I learned more about AI and Machine Learning by doing the labs and asking my TA plenty of questions. The course seems somewhat outdated too.
He gave us a really easy midterm and then completely destroyed us on the final. Never really did any examples in class that were similar to the final. Worst part was, he didn't give us a formula sheet on the final unlike previous years so the final was nearly impossible to do. If it wasn't for the easy midterm I don't think a single person passes.
