DO NOT TAKE IT WITH HIM! TAKE THIS COURSE WITH CURT PULLAN. THIS MAN GAVE EVERYONE AN A+ IN HIS SECTION. RUN AND ESCAPE WHILE YOU CAN.
Never set clear grading and just overall not a very good prof
The professor is decent but he's very lousy with the course material. Apart from short written lectures, you're expected to get all your knowledge from YouTube videos or government articles and such. Plus, 1/4 of the course content was broken links. His marking was easy though. We were graded by only 2 reports and heavy participation in forums.
The professor went on Vacay during the semester.
Loved the course. I found him to be a very amicable prof. Very straightforward with the assignments and he provided decent feedback. Two essays worth 35% and discussion posts worth 30%. Good course to take for outside major credits and not too demanding.
Interesting course. The prof seemed nice. The only thing was that we did not receive any marks until the last week of the course. Also, the grading criteria is not specific enough. The professor is also a hard marker. However, it is a good course to take if you are looking for something pretty chill. Discussion forums 30% & 2 essays each worth 35%
Expectations are all over the place and isn't communicated well to students. The class site is set up very messily and is disorganized. The workload is very heavy for the class and deadlines are at different dates depending on where you're looking.
Discussion post topics are easy and interesting but you dont know your grades for them at all throughout the semester which is annoying. No formal lectures either just a word doc lecture. TA focuses heavily on APA format so make sure its perfect.
Overall he seemed nice. But there a few things I really didn't enjoy. He's very all over the place with his grading (do not know why). Will provide a mark with no feedback. if you want feedback, well good luck because it'll take him weeks to answer emails (keep in mind this was taken summer school so you do not have weeks to wait). very defensive.
Dale is now my favorite teacher of all time! The course was about substance use and abuse and he completely changed the way I think about it. Dale has a comprehensive understanding of this complex issue and spends the time necessary to share his insights with students. It was truly an inspiring and liberating class. 10/10!!
