Mrs. Hubbard was not particularly pleasant to work with. She essentially assumes you've cheated unless you explain every detail of your work. I used the source I was told to use, was accused of plagiarism based on the face I had used a different version of the book. Explained my situation and she had 0 compassion for it.
not a particularly fair or pleasant to work with.
covers an overwhelming amount of material very quickly (i had 125 pgs of lecture notes) and went through slides super fast and barely posted them after the midterm. grades weren't posted on D2L and essay grading was unclear and pretty harsh. also arrived over an hour late to the exam without communicating with us
She takes joy in punishing people. She keeps your marks hostage until you beg to have an appointment with her so she gets the sense of being in charge. If you write more than asked in your exam paper or on your essay, she deducts marks. Her default belief is you have cheated in all your work until every sentence is proven otherwise. Traumatizing.
could be controversial in some of her views, however, she is caring and understanding and most importantly she's a great professor.
Dr. Hubbard has to be my favourite prof at TMU! Her lectures were always interesting and I found her fairly dry humour hilarious! At first she may seem a little distant or cold, but once you get to know her she's amazing. I highly suggest that you go to her office hours and get to know her better! Truly a lovely person and an amazing prof!
She talks so fast and goes through so much material at once and none of it correlates to her exams.
Professor Hubbard's class are very reading heavy. The main problem is during tutorials, she gives too much air time for the same person to speak, leaving not much content available for the remaining students. She also has a questionable marking scheme for tutorials.
She is lovely and well respected. She knows her stuff! VERY seminar heavy, expect to read entire books for seminars. LECTURE HEAVY! She will go through lectures rly fast so either take notes after class or expect to type til your fingers cramp. She truly has passion for history tech and will help any student in need. Little intimidating tho
