Vanessa is a great prof! She answers my questions patiently in class, helped me with even non-Accounting related tasks which shows a great deal of character. She is so much better than Else.
She is an amazing prof. She teaches very well. However, you will not do well in the class unless you read prior to the lectures and make comprehensive notes. Be sure you fully understand the chapter that will be taught during that class. Also, her quizzes are no walk in the park - another reason to make sure you know the chapter's concept throughly
Vanessa is an amazing professor and passionate about what she does but she can be extremely tough in terms of her weekly quizzes because they required you to know the entire chapter and processes all by yourself just through the readings. By the end of the semester though, she started being more easy and helping students out. Her exams were fair
Vanessa was extremely nice(after half the class dropped). Her quizzes can sometimes be really difficult especially if you don't know all the ins and outs of the chapter. Also, write with a pencil because she goes all over the board(bring an eraser). Never the Less, she knows her stuff . Visit her office hours for optimal learning!
I was in Else's class but attended her classes as well. Vanessa was nothing but nice and helpful to me even though she knew I wasn't in her class - she explained accounting to me, picked up my pen when I dropped it, and gave me extra paper to practice problems on when I ran out. Vanessa is not the problem here - it's you not putting in the work
Ah very hard to put this nicely. She's not a good prof at all... Almost everyone had her but sat in Else's class. She never knew what she was talking about, did not prepare you for the tests and exams, pretended you never asked the question when she didn't know the answer, and office hours were extremely hard to reach her with. Switch out NOW.
Clearly knowledgeable but severely lacking as a professor for AFA 200. Expects students to know the material prior to class, where she will run through examples without adding any value whatsoever. Caveat Emptor.
Don't trust the earlier ratings. She is a great prof, you just need to put in a good amount of effort, but that should be expected.
Vanessa is clearly knowledgeable about this course. Sometimes is slightly confusing but just ask and she is usually able to help. Midterm takes a long time to get returned. She does call on random people which is nerve-wracking but accepts "I don't know" and moves on. Attending lecture is very necessary.
Great professor. The lectures are conducted at a comfortable pace that allowed me (and probably other ESL students) to digest difficult cost accounting concepts. Clear, concise, and seems dedicated to students' success. She's willing to take time and explain key concepts in problem. Only feedback is to elaborate more on solutions in a meaningful wa
