This professor is a quick cash collector. Shows up, reads like a cyborg at 6 words per minute, and does not care if you were able to comprehend or not. If you ask him to explain something again, you'll get violated for asking. Misleads you about what's included in exams and fails everyone at the end. Scripted like a pure Disney villain.
Prof does not give a ____ about providing decent examples with proper steps. Misleads students about what is on the upcoming examinations. If you go to office hours he will tell you that you should know this information from the lecture he refused to explain the topic in.
Dr. Chen is a calm and collected lecturer. He is easy to follow but extremely rate monotonic, so therefore the class ends up hard to follow. The grading can be black and white and he is difficult to trust. He lied on the midterm mentioning he'd take off -1 for every wrong answer, which he didn't thankfully. Losing your students' trust is not good.
Good teacher. Only downside is there are not enough examples to support his theory. Office hours he is one of those teachers that "guides you" instead of giving clear answers to questions. This course is difficult. The material is super tough, which students will misinterpret as Chen being a bad teacher. Other than lack of examples, Chen is good.
The course material does get difficult near the end so just keep up with it.
I have never had a bad prof like him. It's impossible to avoid falling asleep during the lecture due to his robotic personality. Worse yet, his exams are nothing like his lecture slides on which he spends whole lecture chicken-scratching. On top of this, he is rude when you go to his office hours.
This prof just drinks his water from his flask and carries on with his lecture. Straight theory, no examples, no care in teaching. Be prepared to fall asleep and get lost in his teaching with his monotone voice.
Alright, *then drinks from his thermos. This guy can teach for days if he was given the time. But for me, he's unbearable with his monotonic voice. His explanations are not bad, like they're clear and all, but it's sooooo long. He won't post his full slides, so he makes you attend class.
Dr. Chen is a tough professor, but he is fair and reasonable. Lecture attendance isn't mandatory but it is a must if you want to get the most out of his notes since they leave out certain minor tidbits (as he will tell you during the first lecture). The labs help alot with the theory.
