Awful professor. Very unprofessional & not helpful. His lectures were almost always irrelevant. Not to mention he is extremely arrogant. This could be a fascinating class, if a better lecturer was selected...
Tim talks with more authority than he should having only written 2 books (one of which he has no experience) and a smattering of dull articles and has no awards. Instead of helping when I went to him he told me that if I were a better writer my article would be better written. Worst part of Jschool
honestly worst. class. ever. Tim needs to focus more on his students and not on himself. Learned nothing worth knowing from this class. Tim needs to deflate his ego...
Tim is great. Lectures are fairly self explanatory but they are still engaging through different pieces of work he shows us and goes through step by step processes of how to go about our work. Tim has a good sense of humour and gives good criticism.
tries hard but is really boring. sorry. i was planning on going into magazine writing until this course happened. readings and lectures didn't really do anything to help. he also has a big ego.
Worst professor I've had at Ryerson. Believes that if you're not born a great writer he "can't help you" - his words, not mine. Makes me ashamed to be in the journalism program
Tim is a good lecturer. His lectures are engaging and he offers good examples- sometimes videos in class.
Bring a pillow for your pillow's pillow.
Super cool guy -- fun, engaging, even his tangents are worthwhile. You'll learn a lot from him. He'll push you to do your best and the workload will get heavy, but he's sympathetic in a hard-ass way. Definitely one of my Ryerson favourites.
Not impressed.
