This prof was not very helpful when it came to test and exams. She did not answer questions clearly which made it even more difficulty. She's fast paced when she speaks. She also misplaced three midterms for this class which was simply unfair how she dealt with the replacement of the marks. Overall, the course was interesting, but confusing ..
She was very confusing and not very helpful at all. She did not answer questions properly and it made it very difficult when it came to the test and exams. She misplaced tests which was very unprofessional.
Her course is easy if you attend lecture and watch all of the films. She is very approachable and answered my emails quickly. She gets upset and off-topic easily, but she is a very sweet person. People expect an easy A but you need to put in some work to get it!
I went into this course not expecting much and I left truly loving what I learned. Laurinda is a great prof - clearly loves what she does, attending class and writing good notes will guarantee you a great mark. Textbook is barely needed. Provides study sheets for both midterms and final which are VERY helpful, says exactly what you need to study.
She only teaches one theory throughout the course, but is still a petty marker on tests. The course is easy but she makes it uninteresting.
the take home test/assign was soo long and hard to understand.. the marking was too tough, i got zero on questions that i know some parts were correct. should have recieved part marks.
HYPER - she sends u one email followed by 5 more, to correct all previous ones. Talks nonsense during the movies. Announces the time every minute during tests. If you can live with that, its an easy course.
She talks ALOT in class, but everything she talks about is on the midterms/ exam. READ the txtbk and lecture notes. She is a hard marker at first, but gets easier. ATTENDANCE/ Participation is graded, overall i got an A-
there was a lot more history than politics and i didnt need to buy the expensive book. also for the exams she would call out the time counting down every 4 mins or so, literally as well as erase and write the new time on the board..when it was only a 40 min exam, soo distracting and affected my mark. but overall she was nice and helpful otherwise
Terribly boring prof and a hard marker. The textbook that is NECESSARY for the first take home test is impossible to understand, even with analysis. the second half of the course was incredibly boring (french films with english subtitles). Take home tests were time consuming, marks quite rigorously. Not as "easy" as everyone makes it out to be.
