This is the worst prof I have ever had. Not only is she an extremely hard marker, but she also doesn't understand her own assignments and keeps telling each student different things and criteria for the work she assigns. She would interrupt me every time I had something to say about my marks. If you can choose, don't take her classes, trust me.
An all around bad prof. Bad lectures, mind-numbingly boring assignments, and also an insanely hard grader for no apparent reason! Attendance matters. Beware that 30% of your grade for assignments comes from weekly "drafts" that are for some reason graded extremely heavily. Good luck lol
She doesn't really explain things well if at all, she also seems to be quite forgetful... she'll say something one week then the next week say the complete opposite which is super annoying, expects process models each week, and a good portion of your grade comes from what you show her in class rather than just the finished assignment.
Basically she would take your idea and tell you to completely change it into something not even relatively similar. If you don't bring process models EVERY class (even when you are planning to begin your good copy) it drastically effects your project mark. If you dont do her idea you dont get a good mark.
Just because you've done a lot of architectural projects doesn't make you a good instructor to teach other people. She's terrible, and doesn't really listen to what you have to say.
Heard a lot of negative feedback before taking her class. She ended up being one of my favourite professors yet. You will have to work for it, and take her advice, but if you do she will do nothing but good for you. I wish I could have her again.
For a first year class it can be quite daunting to have her as a professor. She is very particular about what she likes or doesn't like. A lot of the time its about following her vision and sacrificing your own. For the best mark its safer to just do what she suggests. She demands a lot of work outside of studio time. Can be a creativity killer.
It's about pleasing her. She'll simplify your ideas to a point you cannot tell it's yours. It's because she wants you to finish it on time, but that just shows how much she underestimates her students. Not to mention she wants her students to (by quote) "spend 6 hours in a day working on her assignments alone" which is ridiculous.
She is by far my least favourite prof. Extremely uneasy to speak to, her criticism is very harsh and unnecessary. She will tell you an idea, you'll go ahead and do it then she'll say she hates it.
I never had a single prof I even disliked even a little in my 3 years here but this one was awful. If you already know all the course material she'll help you improve but don't expect her to teach you anything. She has ZERO knowledge of how to use the shop so Ird with her is awful and really confusing. Make a good impression it's all that matters
