Had her at Mcmaster for 4th year SW course. Teaches her opinion and expects you to agree with it in order to get marks. The course ended with a shouting match between her and class which SHE started. Blamed white students for her difficulties as a teacher. Refused to answer emails under any circumstances. Insensitive to students with disabilites.
Fabulous! Very direct teaching ability, but willing to work with students. Encourages class discussions and thoroughly enjoys what students have to say. Willing to establish a personal relationship with student. Excellent material and highly educated in many areas, clearly a well educated and highly experienced professional.
Amazing Professor. If you do the research and approach the course with a desire to succeed and a willingness to engage in developing your analytical abilities than you will find this to be one of the most rewarding and memorable academic experiences ever. I highly respect Professor Mullings. She helped me build confidence in my academic abilities!!
Delores is approachable. She can sometimes go off on a tangent with regard to lectures. Her instructions can be confusing. She is however funny and easy to get along with. She is NOT "mean". I wish her teaching skills were better, as I have not learned much. Students should realize that they're not in high school and need to act like adults.
Will not baby students, and that's the way it should be. Always willing to answer questions and help during office hours/break. Though I have had issues in this class, I think the other ratings are extreme and way too harsh. Despite the comments of being "mean" I think she brings a sense of humour to the class that is rare.
IMHO, This instructor is frequently unprofessional in her interactions with students, makes inappropriate comments in the classroom, and can be rude and defensive when challenged.I have found is frustrating to deal with what I percieve as a lack of empathy on her behalf, as well as an approach which is extremely paternalistic towards students.
incompetent
If you see her name on your timetable, Drop the class right away. Waste of money and time. the year is almost over and we only had like 5 classes each sem, and we still didn't learn anything. Half of the class is barely passing and she has no problem failing people.
There is a difference between university and highschool. Some people forget that. Delores is an amazing prof. She is knowledgable, can be impatient but everyone has flaws. Do not expect to learn right off the bat. One has to critically analyze and reflect to intergrate the knowledge. As for laptops don't make big deal in class about it...
ARGH. She's awful... mean mean mean... how can anyone possibly learn in an environment with her in it? She makes everything so unpleasant. So what if she's knowleagable or is a professor? She doesn't even give the minimum respect to people! If she tries, it's a pretentious act.
