You literally need to be a stenographer. You ask to go back, ignores you or misses the point. Seem's like a nice guy, wouldn't know. DO NOT SKIP CLASS. Anything that comes out of his mouth needs to be written down, repeated, and memorized in order to succeed. I went to class, have a high GPA, so for anyone thinking I didn't go to class are wrong.
Dr. Parsons was very passionate about his craft. The course material was very interesting and thought-provoking. His slides don't have much information so make sure to go to lectures and take notes for an easy A. He answers questions in class with detail and encourages discussions. I've heard others say he is a tough grader so be weary of that.
If you pay attention in class and are good at taking notes you should easily get 80%+.
This was the most interesting class I have taken so far! Take good and concise notes, review them A LOT, and you will do well in Parsons courses!
Professor Parsons was a really good professor in the sense that his lectures were always thought-provoking and engaging. However, I found his grading style to be a little too strict, ESPECIALLY since this is a lower-level liberal course. I would sit in on one of his lectures again but not for grades unfortunately.
if u study hard, attend every lecture and take good notes you will be fine. The class average for the midterm was a 50 and final was a 46 (he didn't curve neither). He grades hard and you cannot skip lectures or you won't know what is going on. just dont take him, save yourself. Class was interesting though!
i still have trauma from this class and it's been almost a year.
I've never taken a philosophy course before but Glenn is such an amazing lecturer that if you pay attention in class, take good course notes, and study, you will excel in this class. Glenn known a lot about the material taught in class and does an amazing job at explaining the material in a way that's easy to understand.
The class was brutal, you have to go to every class or you won't know a single thing. I don't understand why he post slide shows when there only picture on it, I'm sorry are we in grade 1. On the exam it asked me which philosopher cited what quote, I'm sorry there were a 100 quotes how am I supposed to know they don't even speak proper english. RUN
Please don't listen to the person who gave him at 5, this class and prof was horrible. I wished I dropped the class. I'm a smart student and can write, and my feed back for the essay was all good, but did poorly. The midterm average was 61 and final was a 50. Definitely don't take this class at all. Not easy, confusing, boring, and no point!
