Altrows is like that crazy uncle you have at Thanksgiving that goes on and one about things back "in his day". He loves telling stories which sometimes have relevance, but often don't. The whole class was vague. It could be that this is because the class was mostly social planning processes, but it just didn't have enough of a bone to hang onto.
Good prof! He is like a grandfather that when he comes to visit tells you all his stories. On remembrance day, he told our class that he prays that our generation never has to see any world wars in our lifetime, or wars in general for that matter. Such a sweet guy and very old school! Likes his traditional projector as opposed to the digital ones.
A good prof but hard to understand at times. Be sure to read his course reader and you will do fine
Altrows is an enigma. He can be truly helpful, but at other times he's completely off base. I would try to avoid him for studio and electives if possible.
Quirky, annoying, loud obnoxious, ya hes a little weird but Ill be damned he at least makes his lectures engaging. For all the money we pay its better to have someone like him who is actually talking and trying to enrich the class than most profs who just read slides created by a textbook. Go to class, take interest and youll be fine
Enthusiastic and a bit eccentric. Generally a good professor. Passionate about his work. Somewhat disorganised though, often goes way off topic and his marking scheme is pretty random. If you try to take an interest in the subject matter and can follow his lectures, you`ll do well
Make sure you get to class on time, if youre over the 10 min limit he won't let you in. The class is pretty boring, also doen't help that he talks about "development" forever. Bring your laptop and you'll be fine.
Great guy. Passionate about his work
Seems like a really nice guy, although I hated his class. I learned nothing. Since his class, I have wanted to switch professions. His classes are ALL over the place...He is incredibly hard to follow. So unorganized. I know that he knows his stuff, but that does not give him any right to be a teacher.
As previous posters have said, very unorganized, illegible chalk writing, a lot of digressing into personal trips to south america, overall hippie. If you ask him a question he'll just drone on and on. His specialty is in abstract planning theory, alot of it is common sense. But the course is mandatory if you're in the bachelor program.
