Great prof, fun class if you like reading SF novels!
A very entertaining, funny and engaging professor with a serious and profound understanding of whatever the classroom equivalent of stage presence is. Two assignments were to be handed in as hardcopy. Content in lectures is important to get that extra boost from B+ to A+, but was not foundational to any of the tests or assignments, the books are.
I can tell Copeland cares about his class and his work; however, this has been the most time-consuming class I took as an elective. He came late to class every day and doesn't post the lecture slides which ended up getting really annoying. Theres also too many books that I had to keep buying.
HILARIOUSSS so so funny and engaging I could listen to his lectures for hours. Really down to earth and I really enjoyed the books and there are only 3 essays in the course. He is a slightly tough grader but overall a great prof
Professor Copeland makes his lectures entertaining with pop culture references, but the class is reading-heavy. The content can be heavy at times. Unstuck study helped me stay on top of the material.
his lectures were fun and he seems nice but he marks pretty hard. you should go to lectures for the participation marks but his lecture material isn't exactly ever tested so its not that important to take notes. all the books we read were good and the discussions too but he does kinda grill you if he doesn't agree w your opinion
He is a very fun professor to have, making classes engaging. Biggest issue is he doesn't post slides, he just has a giant word doc he scrolls through while lecturing which makes taking notes a bit difficult. Definitely a tough grader, but he will talk through with you what you need to improve and how to do so. He rarely gives a 90 or above though.
Ah, the Joker. Professor Copeland is a funny man but also a good teacher. The discussions he facilitates are both informative and humorous. He does ask his students to do a lot of reading and the only assignments are essay writing, but overall, definitely a worthwhile class if you really care about literature.
Professor Copeland's courses require a lot of reading because they are about reading Sci-Fi or Pop Lit. He is one of the most engaging Professors at TMU. He is high-energy and engaging. If you like Books, he explains them very well.
Evil, two days before the midterm he deleted all of his powerpoint lectures and everything we would need to study for. When asked about it in email, he would ignore. Deliberately harming students for sick pleasure is sad. Not everyone is finished studying two days earlier than the midterm and some people have work.
