I have significant anxiety and deadline issues and Prof Pierre was extremely accomodating and understanding of my issues. His advice is great and the course helped me expand my perspective of visual media; the different software available, the ways they could interweave, the variety of unique form media already out there, etc.
Pierre is a very caring guy. He treats his classes and assignments as opportunities to for his students to try new things. However, get ready to spend a lot of time looking up after effects tutorials. Tip: doing something clean and simple will impress him just as much as anything elaborate.
Pierre seems like an alright guy, and I highly respect him, but the man only gives out 80s. Do the bare minimum, get an 80, go crazy, get an 80. Really devastating to have no motive to work in that way where theres nothing pushing you to do want to do better.
What can I say, Pierre is an angel walking amongst us. His cutting edge style and his beautiful accent captured all of our hearts since day 1. Love him 2 death. Pierre, if you're reading this, i'd love to include you in my will.
This was *supposed* to be a first year MFA production course on New Media. Pierre instead taught us art history and After Affects. Not learning New Media properly affected my thesis project as well as my career prospects. I'll have to spend more time and $ taking classes to make up for this missed learning opportunity. Thanks for nothing, Pierre!
Pierre is a really nice guy, very helpful and good at what he does. You don't really need to worry about your marks, just try something new and different and he'll mark you for your efforts
good projects, allows for some innovation on the student's part... but i give him 80% because that's the only mark he gives his students.
He's organized, teaches clearly, is friendly and encouraging. What I like best is he gives you an assignment with just basic requirements and you can run in any direction you want with it with his full support. Is willing to give you suggestions/critique you, even for work that is not related to his course just to help you in whatever you're doing.
a slightly over-rated prof. I agree with the previous poster about the 'better not disagree with him' deal... he gives constructive criticism and he's nice, sure, but it appears he can't handle anyone not accepting his criticism as definitely correct. Otherwise he'll get kind of testy
Wow, excellent prof, will sit down with u and encourage you to go the "different" route, would rather you experiment and do something for yourself than do something for him..
