It's not that she can't teach, its just that she doesn't teach at all. Her comments aren't constructive. This course is hard, but she was not supportive. Do yourself a favour and take this course with someone else. Unless you are great at self studying an unreadable book which she admits herself is poorly written.

good prof, really teaches you real world stuff. I would take her again. tests were very fair and easy; exam was also good just not enough time...

She needs to go to anger management classes seriously, I tried my hardest in this class but still failed because her marking and tests are unreasonable. I took it in the Summer with a CE teacher and passed with a C. Don't take it with her, you'll fail unless you're a genius.

Avoid at all costs!! She's not approachable at all and her comments can be very condescending. Her tests are nothing like the problem questions in the book. They're soo much harder!!! The exam was a killer. 514 is not an easy course and it'd be best to take it with someone who's actually willing to help.

ACC 514 is a hard course no matter WHO you take it with. Do your work and ask for help early on. Shari is willing to help students if you do your work and see her during office hours. Midterm and exams are not easy but if you work hard you can pass. Just make sure you have a copy of the solutions

She hates life and i wouldn't be surprised if she went virginia tech. on everyone at ryerson. She clearly has no teaching background b/c she has trouble expressing herself and conveying any sort of message to students. If you wanna fail this course, i urge u to take it with her. WE SHOULD BOYCOTT SHARI MANN, hopefully she'll leave ryerson for good!

The absolute worst professor I have ever encountered during my studies at three different schools throughout my life. She doesn't teach and expects her students to know everything prior to coming to class. She just stands up and gives you the problem solutions for about 5 seconds and then moves on.

Profs shouldn't be hired solely based on what degree's they have, they need to be able to properly teach the course. All she does is put up the answers on the board without explaining and you have to figure out what's going on. She teaches as if we're already CA's or something. Ryerson needs to cut it's losses. If you have her I suggest you drop.

Worst prof ever, if you have her drop immediately and take another prof. She doesn't teach you the material, which is difficult on it's own. Her midterms and exams are insanely hard compared to the text and examples. She understands the material but fails to help us understand it. She expects you to know the material before she "teaches" it to you.

WORST PROF EVER!!!! I can't believe they still let her 'teach'. She is absolulety useless at explaining anything and the book is not a great help either. Avoid her at all costs, she will make you hate accounting. Probably going to have to take the course again if you take it with her!
