This was a graduate course. Dr. Berman was incredibly helpful throughout the learning process. Her lectures were informative, and she was respectful of students' questions and discussions. There are readings to do, but they will prepare you for the assignments. I would take her course again.
Prof. Berman is a great professor. Although CLD449 is an independent research course, her course materials are helpful in the project process. She is also professional, provides good feedback, and cares about students' learning. If you don't understand something, just ask her.
Wonderful woman, cares about her field and her students. Helpful, passionate, all around great lady.
I first had her for families, and I really didn't like her. Then I had her for communications and she was great. Super nice, and very understaning. Now she's one of my favourites!
So many students make up families for the case study assignment and get away with it.I don't recommend this-do the work.On another note, I wish this wasn't a mandatory class...alot of us already have a solid background working with immigrant families, inclusive education, and the such. It's annoying to have to do it again and again and again.
Rachel is a very nice teacher who treats all her students with kindness and respect. Students sometimes take advantage of her because she is so nice and has trouble saying no.
