He loves hand drawings ad sketches more than the complex renders most profs expect you to have a good grasp on. He talks so much during work periods, but it makes the environment light and fun rather than anxious and stressful. He gives out ideas and helps you build your own in comparison to other profs that simply only tell you to work on it more
LOVE PROFESSOR FURMAN. He makes dad jokes and his voice can bring you to sleep. So kind with crit and actually cares about your feelings. Work hard and he will appreciate you!
Best IRN Prof I have ever had at RSID. Furman is understanding, cares about your design and puts in effort to help you do better. I felt super inspired and motivated to make my design better. If YOU put the effort in, and ask questions you will learn A LOT from him.
Easily the best prof I have had so far. He cares about every idea you come up with takes as much time as needed to sit with you and talk about your work. He's interested in what he teaches and does and super nice!
I had Furman for one class in my very first semester, but I witnessed him for four years. He is completely aloof. He is a super nice, super friendly man and I genuinely think that he cares about the school and the design field, but he's on another planet most of the time.
PRO: He cares a lot about his student's works. I learned a lot about design from him. If you want a professor that does not have BIAS written all over their foreheads, definitely take Furman. CON: Indiv. crits take forever. Protip: The earlier you see him, the better for you
Patience is required in navigating through crits but it pays off. Information extracted from conversations however unrelated they may seem, is valuable, interesting and often applicable. Cares about your project.
Very interesting exciting and inspiring prof. You really want to come to his class and push your envelope as far as you can. However, he really like to talk, talk talk... So, if you have questions, just ask right at the beginning and make sure that he actually answers them, otherwise you will forget what you came for after he will start talking...
Class can be a little frustrating as he can get off track easily and takes a long time with student crits, but he takes a long time with student crits and is excited about your project. He's a fantastic prof. If you get him don't switch out!
One of my favourite professors! Extremely helpful and nice. Very passionate. Sometimes he would talk for most of the class about ideas and inspirations. The class is very chilling except on days when things are due. The key to getting good marks is to ask him questions and tell him your ideas, he will help you from there
