This was by far the best history class I've ever taken. She takes incredibly dry material and makes it interesting. Lots of class discussion and you'll learn a lot from participating. The exams are very straight forward and as are the essays. I loved attending her lectures, she is hilarious and unafraid to give her opinions on certain topics
This woman is a genius. She is a Knight. A KNIGHT! She's amazing. Absolutely hilarious.
Made art history pretty fun and a little bit less tedious. Genuinely wants you to learn, and not just take notes. Doesn't like grading assignments, so don't go too far over word counts. Midterm and papers were easy and had pretty lax grading. Exam killed us all, make sure you study. Always available with email or office hours.
Down right the funniest professor ever. She taught me Art History and made the 3 hour lectures so much more entertaining. She knows her stuff, and is confident in teaching it with humor.
An amazing professor! One of my all time favorites, she is to the point, snappy, and has no patience for suck ups, but is genuinely interested in student's opinions, be frank, be mature, and you'll do great!
It's been about twelve years since I had a class with Marta and I can honestly say she's one of the finest profs I ever had. Listen well aspiring filmmakers and artists, she's actually got all the answers.
very intelligent and inspirational woman. I learned so much about different historical writings on photography, and was inspired by many of the readings. The course requires a lot of reading, but it is well worth it. one of my favourite professors at Ryerson.
Marta is awesome. She is the only clever Prof in Ryerson. It is too bad that she teaches in such a dumb university. In her class there is strong focus on readings which makes the course very engaging. At the end you will know why the course is organized in such a way because you read all the readings in dept. And at the end you learn not earn marks
this is another example of a teacher whose class is underappreciated by snobby film majors who think they don't need the course. in the end, their films are going to be devoid of any interesting asthetics. this course should be taken by anyone who calls themselves an image arts major. marta is adorable.
